Request for Proposals by May 10
California Caucus of College and University Ombuds (CCCUO)
41st Annual Conference at Asilomar
Pacific Grove, California
November 16-19, 2014
The 2014 Planning Group and Program Committee invite your submission of a session proposal to present at the November 2014 CCCUO annual conference. The 2013 program at http://calcaucus.com/ might stimulate your thinking about a session you would find relevant.
We solicit proposals on any topic of significance to the practice of ombudsing, particularly in colleges, universities, and related institutions. Our conference format includes six 90-minute sessions, three or four 20-minute “Ombuds Sampler” sessions, and an after dinner presentation. If received, separate consideration will be given to proposals for stand-alone pre-conference session(s) as well.
CCCUO is committed to giving first-class support and encouragement to all the session presenters before and during the conference program. Committee members will be available to work with presenters to develop their session. One of the distinctions of the 90-minute Cal Caucus sessions is that we try to ensure that each one offers the opportunity for participants to work together with a case-study, or a chance to practice what they're learning from you. We encourage proposals that engage participants in discussion of a challenge or development in the field, so please indicate how your program will incorporate an experiential component.
May 10 is the target date to receive proposals. Each session proposal should include a working title, along with a short description of the content, presenters, and presentation methods. If you would like to talk an idea through prior to submitting a proposal, don’t hesitate to contact us for committee support. And if you're not able to present at the conference but have an idea for a topic or speaker, please send us your recommendations. The Program Committee anticipates making decisions by the end of May.
Questions? Contact Susan Neff, 2014 Conference Co-convener, at 206.523.4233 or firstname.lastname@example.org or Valerie Craigwell-White, Program Committee member, at 503.768.7336 or email@example.com.
Thanks! We look forward to receiving your proposals and topic ideas for our conference program, and to your joining us at the 41st CCCUO Asilomar Conference.
With our regards,
2014 CCCUO Planning and Program Committee Members
